In partnership with numerous customers who graciously donate a portion of their scrap proceeds, General Recycling Industries Ltd. is a proud and continued supporter of the Kids with Cancer Society. Annually, General Recycling matches customer donations dollar for dollar and is the title sponsor of Le Tour of Hope. Since 2012, this collective effort has resulted in combined contributions of over half a million dollars.
This event started in 2002 when a local girl faced childhood cancer. Her father and his friends were determined to unite the community and provide further support to the Kids with Cancer Society and launched the first Le Tour of Hope cycling event.
Le Tour of Hope is an exhilarating and challenging 8-day cycling adventure that spans up to 1,000km to raise awareness and support for kids with cancer as well as their families. Each cyclist is required to collect a minimum of $3,500 in pledges. Register today to participate in the next Le Tour of Hope!
Kids with Cancer Society was founded in 1979 by a group of concerned families to address the lack of support programs for children diagnosed with cancer. Since then, the Kids with Cancer Society has grown to offer more than 50 different programs focusing on the emotional, clinical and research needs of children with cancer and their families.
